look at what i made!

This is the diaper cake I made for my sister's baby shower...! It was great to see my family. It had been way too long since I'd seen them last. Jaime and Tim funded the plane ticket. I thank them again for their generosity and only hope that they enjoyed their shower!!!

I also got to see my best friend, Shannon. She came to the shower and was thus donned photographer for the day. Poor thing! After the festivities, Ms. Shannon and I got the car keys to my Daddy's "Black Beastie." As we were leaving the retirement community (the shower was at my Grandma's house) waiting for the light to turn green, we heard an older gentleman say to his cohort as they rode their bicycles behind us, "Aaah, we didn't get to see the girls." It was hilarious...then we zoomed off into the sunset...

the last lazy days of summer (or not?!) in Colorado

Here are the kiddos in their pool. They just loved splashing about.

Check out Daddy's Spongebob Squarepants artwork. Talented, he is ;) Kaia Lin thought it was the coolest!

well, we did it...!

Can't believe it myself but it's true. We've unpacked all of the 5,439,206 boxes! We're officially all moved in. Somebody even came by today and picked up every last single stinkin' box. Yay! The weather here is awesome, reminds me of California. Have had rain every day for ten minutes tops. We walked the trail today and Austen showed us a great park. The little ones really dug it. Well, that's all for now. Pooped, I am.

are we there yet...?

DAY ONE:

We didn't leave until after 12 pm. We HAD to make it to Amarillo, Texas soooo we drove, and drove, and drove...eleven and a half hours later we finally arrived. And had the privilege of staying in an absolute dump. At least they accepted pets. The kids were pretty good, considering. I, on the other hand, got sick as a dog. Traveling in the new ride was quite nice and almost made up for how crappy I felt and how friggin' long we had to drive.

DAY TWO:

For the record, we had every intention of leaving early...we got up after five and a half hours of uncomfy sleep and were out of the door of the dump no later than 8 a.m. After a pit stop for gas and "breakfast" (on the go pop tart bars, milk and juice) we headed out. The kiddos inhaled their gourmet breakfast and a little while later, Kaia Lin puked it all back up again. Did I mention in addition to the pop tart bars she had a cup of milk and her meds? Can you say ohmygod, ewwww, gross, that's disgusting...and it smells. So we had to pull over, unload the top of the van and get her a new set of clothes. Unfortunately, she had to sit right back down in the seat she just ralphed in. Ugh. Wait, it gets better. A longer while down the road, Hayden asked for his beloved "ti-ti." His blankie. "Where is it? Did you pack it? No. Did you pack it? No. Oh #%$^@...!" You know what we did next, right? We told Hayden it was gone, gone, gone. Hah...gotcha! Nope, we turned our happy arses around and retrieved the "ti-ti," which was tucked down at the foot of the bed, under the sheet, under the blanket, under the comforter...at the dump. Needless to say, we backtracked 50+ miles and lost about an hour and a half. Like I said before, we had every intention of leaving early...

hayden's last day @ school

Hayden and his partner-in-crime, Connor (blue shirt). Two peas in a pod, they are ;O

Ms. Karen threw Hayden a surprise good-bye party...complete with a water day, cupcakes, hugs and kisses!

Me and the fabulous Ms. Maggie (Connor's mama). She's invited me to Hawaii. Can you say WHOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOO!!

"it's not good bye, uncle dude, it's see ya later..."

Uncle Dude stopped by to make sure we had everything handled. One thing's for sure, we definitely will not miss the icky humidity of Arkansas, but we will miss Uncle Dude and the rest of the family.

She did what...?!?!

Look at what Savvy has been up to this summer! A preview of what's to come once my baby girl gets her driver's license. Lord, help me...help us all! Sigh.....

ohmygosh...

Yesterday was great. K's family came over to spend time with him. Gran and Grandpa stayed for two nights. Keith and Rhonda, Kelly, Erica and Sydney joined us for good eats later in the day. K got all of the last-minute projects finished. Austen spent the whole day at the pool (aahh, to be young again!). Gran made us all super soft, cuddly blankets for our move. Savvy, you got a new one. It's beautiful. I may just have to make it mine instead!

And today...well...I'm getting really freaked out. Really don't know where to start with all of this moving/packing stuff. What to take, what not to take, where and how do I even start? I'm sure this admission is a real surprise to most who know me as the planner, organizer, ocd, type-a chica that I am. Ugh, anybody want to do this for me? Hah! I guess the longer I sit here, the more panicked I'm getting. Sounds like fun, doesn't it?

I miss Savvy so much. This really is the worst part of my summer - every year. Savvy, comment so I at least know you're reading these. That goes for all of y'all (did you like that southern grammar??).

Pray that the humble abode here sells...sooner rather than later.

finally....

K finally got in last night after a delay of over two and a half hours. Ugh. Needless to say, the kiddos woke him up bright and early (hee-hee)! There's a lot of "stuff" that has to be done in less than 48 hours. Wish us luck!
